Welcome! It is my privilege to greet you on behalf of The Dormition of the
Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church and, much more importantly, Jesus Christ.
Thank you for joining us in celebrating our 36th Annual Greek Festival. As it is
with any invitation to a house filled with Love, we hope and pray that your
visit will be filled with joy, excitement and many, many blessings.
There is an old expression that Orthodoxy is not a religion, it is a way of
Life. After being introduced to and surrounded by this expression for over ten
years, I have been blessed with a better understanding of this way of Life
expression and how intimately a faith influences such a culturally-rich
community. As you encounter the fabulous food, live music, dynamic dancing, and
the spirit of this festival, know that the individuals that make up this
community of believers possess a deeper wisdom than just the basic material
pleasures of this world.
The quest for true life is the driving force behind each member’s dedicated
involvement and personal participation in such an expressive venue. You are
encouraged to explore each corner of our world and inquire into the faith that
makes a festival of this caliber achievable by so few.
The community of The Dormition of the Theotokos thanks you for participating in
our 2010 Greek Festival and we look forward to sharing life with you throughout
the many ages to come.
With Love in Christ,
Father Thomas Newlin
We are delighted that you have joined us to celebrate our 36th annual Greek Festival, a major fundraising event of the year and perhaps our largest festival ever! Many of you are loyal friends who have attended many festivals through the years, others are just beginning to realize that this event is one “not to miss” and still others of you are newcomers. To all we say WELCOME!
The Greek Festival started many years ago as a food
festival and has evolved into a much anticipated annual cultural event. As proud
hosts we welcome the opportunity to share our Greek Culture, History, Traditions
and Faith with you our visitors. Our hospitality, food and pastries, music and
dancers, and Agora marketplace will lift your spirits, light up your faces and
make you feel like you have traveled a far distance indeed. Your continued
support, and that of our sponsors and advertisers, make it possible for us to
help various charities in the community. We appreciate and thank all of you!
To the many Dormition of Theotokos volunteers who have worked tirelessly, we
appreciate your energy, pride, enthusiasm, wisdom, and guidance. This festival
has truly been a labor of love for many.
THANK YOU again for being here and sharing in Fall Greek Festival 2010! As the Greeks would say, OPA! and let the fun begin!

2010 Festival Steering Committee
